The Prado at Balboa Park Wedding Venue | San Diego Vendor Feature
To further help brides in their wedding planning, I’m now writing vendor feature blog posts in addition to wedding tips! Today’s post features a digital venue tour of The Prado at Balboa Park. One thing I love about venue visits is that when I go, there aren’t decorations or other brides’ ideas in the space. This means that the images I take are of the venue in its most basic state. You’ll be able to see the space for what it is and will have a better idea of what you could do with it for your wedding!
The Prado, located in San Diego, has a number of different spaces for weddings, ranging from small to large guest counts. What I loved about the Prado was that it can accommodate brides on a budget, with its smaller spaces, and brides looking for lavish weddings in their larger rooms. The Prado is somewhat of an all-inclusive venue. They provide linens, chairs, tables, food, cake, and more, making it easier for you to plan your wedding without having to contact a hundred different vendors!
The Prado Grand Ballroom
The Prado Grand Ballroom is magnificent. This elegant and space boasts beautiful hardwood floors along with 27-foot high ceilings. Stunning chandeliers and optional skylights pair nicely with the classic stage. The 5,500 square foot ballroom can seat up to 320 guests.
The Prado Foutain Courtyard
The Fountain Courtyard is central to most of the wedding spaces at the Prado, ensuring it is super easy for your guests to find. One thing I love about the Prado is that I always have an “upstairs” from which I can take aerial images. This gives a totally new look to your wedding images!
The Prado Loggia
At 1,500 square feet, the Loggia reception room can seat up to 100 guests. While smaller than the ballroom, the Loggia boasts just as beautiful ceilings and access to two terraces. Cocktail bars are easily set up on either of the terraces!
Here’s the view from one of the Loggia’s terraces!
The Prado Alhambra
This quaint space overlooks the Casa del Rey Moro Gardens! The Alhambra reception room can seat up to 80 guests. A private covered balcony is just on the other side of picturesque French doors.
The Prado Casa del Rey Moro Gardens
The Casa del Rey Moro Gardens serve as the ceremony site for the Prado at Balboa Park. With two ceremony times to choose from, you’ll have a lot of flexibility if you’re wanting to tie the knot and dance the night away in the same location. Up to 320 of your friends and family may be accommodated in this Prado ceremony location.
This image shows what’s further back from the ceremony site. If you choose a 6pm ceremony time, there will more than likely be a few guests dining under these umbrellas. Some brides don’t mind this at all, while others prefer to choose the 4pm time for a more private ceremony.
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed this mini tour of the Prado at Balboa Park. There are so many beautiful spots in Balboa Park for portraits that I haven’t even begun to cover! What I’ve shown is just the start of your Prado wedding!
