Find me on
Earlier this week, I posted Part One of Bonny and James wedding. Today’s Part Two includes all of the beauty from their L’Auberge Del Mar wedding reception. In case you hadn’t seen the news, this wedding was published on Martha Stewart Weddings earlier this week. I am so honored to have such an incredible publication to end 2020.

Sunset Portraits & Cocktail Hour
Right after the ceremony, we rushed outside to capture sunset portraits for the final moments of sunlight. It’s so important to be mindful of the sun on a wedding day, especially on a rainy day. On rainy days, the overcast sky greatly dims the sunlight and thus causes light to disappear much faster during sunset than on sunny days.

Cocktail hour was held on the Sunset Terrace at L’Auberge. Thankfully the drizzle held off so that the guests could enjoy appetizers and cocktails under the bare sky.

L’Auberge Del Mar Wedding Reception
Brace yourself for all of the gorgeous details I couldn’t hold back from sharing. Heather with Amorology outdid herself with this fun and festive reception design. This reception is proof that you can have a Christmas or holiday-themed wedding without being too on the nose.

James and Bonny made their grand entrance and went straight into their first dance before listening to heartfelt and hilarious toasts.

Later in the evening, Bonny and James took part in a Korean paebaek – a traditional ceremony in which the couple’s family give warm wishes and advice, as well as gifts to the couple. Additionally, my favorite part is the throwing of the chestnuts. The chestnuts symbolize children and the couple must try to catch the chestnuts in the bride’s skirt. The more chestnuts the couple catches, the more children they will have. It’s super fun and cute!

After the paebaek, Bonny and James cut their gorgeous wedding cake before ending the evening with dancing for all guests. Every moment of this day was sweet and beautiful.
