Find me on
Katie and Todd’s gorgeous Coronado Community Center wedding has color on my mind and I’m sure you’ll find out why as you scroll through their wedding images. My favorite part of their wedding story, though, is actually how it began.

Todd and Katie met while seated at the same table at a wedding in Santa Barbara. Todd knew he had to ask the beautiful Katie to dance, to which she obliged, and even wowed her with some of his swing dance moves. It reminds me of a classic love story that’s begging to be turned into a movie.

For their wedding day, the couple got ready at the Hotel del Coronado, one of Katie’s favorite locations in all of San Diego. It’s historic charm actually provided the perfect setting for their proposal. If you don’t love these two already, then I don’t know what more to tell you. They’re incredibly kind, intelligent, and generous people who will absolutely move mountains in their careers and personal lives.

Although rain had been on the forecast for their wedding day, it cleared up in time for a beautiful first look and portrait hour at the Del. It was as if nature knew not to rain on their parade with even a drop of April shower nonsense.

Officiated by Katie’s aunt, Todd and Katie’s gorgeous ceremony at the Community Center overlooked the deep blue waters of Glorietta Bay, giving guests two beautiful views. Having written their own vows, Todd and Katie spoke of their admirations for each other and what they promised to uphold throughout their marriage.

For their reception decor, Todd and Katie sought out the help from master designer Ashley of Coastyle Events. They wanted a traditional reception that featured a few sprinkles of mid-century modern vibes. By using an incredibly fun and bold color palette, Ashley pulled off this look by incorporating classic sports and literary elements into each table and playing up modern elements within the lounge and throughout every custom painted sign from To Be Designed. It was absolutely stunning and has me hoping brides will start playing more with color!

Having essentially bonded over dancing, it was no surprise that Todd and Katie performed an impressive choreographed first dance for all of their guests. If you ever want to wow your friends and family, this is certainly an incredible way to do so!

Todd and Katie, it has been such an amazing year working with you two, who I truly consider to be a dream couple. I absolutely cannot wait to watch you succeed in your careers and hope we can stay in touch often. Congratulations!!

CONGRATS, KATIE AND TODD! YOUR WEDDING LOOKS LIKE IT WAS A WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, VERY BLESSED EVENT. PRAYERS AND BEST WISHES FOR YOUR FUTURE TOGETHER!
