Find me on
I am beyond excited and proud to share images from Stephanie and Alan’s Jekyll Island Club Resort wedding. Martha Stewart Weddings published their special day, which took place in Jekyll Island, Georgia. The property’s Spanish moss-covered trees, the couple’s tiny dog, and their love-abundant celebration made this wedding hold a special place in my heart.

Wedding Plan Compromises
Stephanie and Alan originally planned to wed in Cartagena, Colombia, this March but COVID caused Colombia to close their borders just a week prior. While they plan to host a reception there in 2021, they were eager to officially wed and start their family. Stephanie opted for a 21 person elopement at Jekyll Island Club Resort with an entirely al fresco celebration. Mid-June, I flew across the country stocked with my N95 mask, hand sanitizer, and endless Clorox wipes to document their intimate elopement.

First Look, Portraits, and the Ketubah Signing
Stephanie and Alan had an emotional first look, during which they privately read vows to each other. It was so clear the love they share is strong and deep. I felt honored to have witnessed their vows while capturing their beautiful expressions. Once their vows were completed, we all explored the property for portraits before heading back inside for their ketubah signing.

If you’re unfamiliar with the ketubah, it’s a Jewish wedding contract that is read and signed by the couple and witnesses prior to the ceremony. The one for Stephanie and Alan’s wedding came from Israel and featured a beautiful blush tone.

Jekyll Island Club Resort Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place on a large lawn surrounded by bountiful foliage. With just 21 people total, the ceremony was intimate and reserved for the closest of friends and family who were able to attend. Those who couldn’t were able to watch the ceremony via live stream and will attend the larger reception next year.

Bridal Party and Sunset Couple’s Portraits
Stephanie had four bridesmaids in attendance who all donned sleek black gowns. There was one more, very small, member of the bridal party: the couple’s adorable dog!

Thank you to Stephanie and Alan for having me photograph their sweet and beautiful elopement. It was a joy spending time with them over the weekend and I absolutely cannot wait to meet them again in Cartagena next year.
