Find me on
Paul and Tara, who just so happen to be my neighbors, hosted their Hotel Del Coronado wedding on Valentine’s weekend. With around 60 guests, their wedding celebration was intimate and full of love and support for the couple. Just weeks before the wedding, Tara injured her leg skiing and was still recovering on the wedding day. Thankfully her spirit was strong and she was able to walk down the aisle and even do a bit of dancing in the evening.

Details and Getting Ready
With a short engagement, Tara and Paul mailed out save the date cards and kept their invitations online only. The card featured a burgundy brush stroke to tie into the ivory, green, and burgundy palette of the day. One of the sweetest details of the morning was the pearl bracelet Paul gifted to Tara. Bridal Party Portraits
A stunning courtyard in the middle of the Del served as the backdrop for bridal party portraits. Gorgeous bouquets with burgundy paired beautifully with the bridesmaid dresses as well as the hotel’s facade. One of the most important details from these photos is actually the smallest. On Tara’s bouquet, she carried a small portrait of her late mother. Wrapped around the stems was a piece of lace from her mother’s dress to further honor her memory.

Hotel Del Coronado Wedding Ceremony
Under beautiful blue skies, Tara and Paul said their vows and listened to meaningful readings from close friends.

Hotel Del Coronado Wedding Reception
Despite the pain from her leg, Tara danced beautifully with Paul for their first dance. I love that because it shows even when something derails your initial wedding plans, you should still soak up every minute of the day with joy just as Tara did. Throughout the night, little touches of New Orleans, where Paul hails, were found in the music, Paul’s groom cake, and on the dance floor with a second line. It was truly such an exciting reception that had guests of all ages dancing the night away.
