Find me on
Alyssa and Austin’s Gainey Vineyards wedding took place among the rolling hills of Santa Ynez. I had never been to the Santa Barbara area before traveling north for their wedding and I was utterly in love with the expansive landscapes filled with untouched pastures, lush vineyards, and gorgeous mountains. Shooting this wedding was such a treat for my creative soul and I’m thrilled to share some of my favorites here on my blog.
Getting Ready
Alyssa got ready at the chic Landsby hotel, whose suite was to die for. Gorgeous light, clean walls, and the prettiest modern furniture made for the perfect bridal room. And who wouldn’t love the beautiful details and stunning ladies who filled the space!?

Austin and his groomsmen got ready in a home nearby before the first look, which might be one of my favorite parts of the day.

First Look + Portraits
After traveling to Gainey Vineyards, I set Austin up under the tree that would later serve as their ceremony backdrop. Alyssa smiled the whole walk to Austin, who was in complete awe of Alyssa’s gown and beauty when he turned around. Moments like these are so real and so beautiful that I feel most thankful for my job to witness such inspiring emotions on the wedding day.

Austin and Alyssa had a small bridal party full of friends and family, including my lovely florist friend Taya of Compass Floral who took the day off from flowers to be Alyssa’s bridesmaid. Neutral bridesmaids gowns with just a bit of a pastel undertone have been a huge love of mine lately. They’re so elegant!

Gainey Vineyards Wedding Ceremony
Under a large tree, Austin and Alyssa said their vows and had their first kiss as a married couple. The light streaming through the trees combined with the surrounding greenery made the space feel so intimate and private from the rest of the world. This truly was a stunning ceremony in which every guest was completely present in the moment (thanks in part to Alyssa’s instruction that the ceremony be unplugged – the best decision ever!).

Gainey Vineyards Wedding Reception
The reception featured textured white linens with grey napkins and a sprig of rosemary surrounding lush centerpieces full of neutral flowers. Gold and brass votives combined with gold flatware lent a pop of metallic to the tables. These details were perfectly classic with a hint of modern, timeless, and sophisticated yet relaxed – a wonderful look for a vineyard wedding in Santa Ynez.

Austin and Alyssa, thank you for having me all the way up in Santa Ynez to photograph your wedding. I love how much you two value photography and how seriously you took my tips and advice (you rock!). You’ve both been such amazing clients and I am so happy for you two to start your journey in marriage. Congratulations!

Cavin, these photos are absolutely stunning! What a picture perfect day. Just beautiful!
Thank you so much Nikki!!
