Find me on
Esther and Yoon’s wedding at Rancho Bernardo Inn took place on September 14. Having envisioned a garden wedding surrounded by white roses, Esther chose RBI as her dream venue. To say it was a beautiful day would be an understatement.

Esther and Yoon’s Wedding at Rancho Bernardo Inn
This warm day began with Esther and her bridesmaids preparing for the wedding. Esther’s elegant details and her Martina Liana gown from The White Flower suited her so perfectly. For a first look with her bridesmaids, Esther surprised her grinning bridesmaids with her completed look. Bridesmaids smiled and cried tears of joy in this moment.

First Look and Portraits
Esther and Yoon’s first look took place on a quiet pathway surrounded by Rancho Bernardo’s organic foliage. Both the bride and groom shed a tear during this private moment before they were ready for portraits. Moments like these are a huge reason why I advocate for the first look. Despite the weather being well above 90 degrees, they looked so stunning in their photos. You’d never have known it was one of the hottest days of the summer!

One thing I truly loved about this day was how enthusiastic, positive, and welcoming the bridal party was. It is so easy to work with and photograph a bridal party that’s outgoing and visibly excited about the photos!

Ceremony on the Aragon Lawn
Beautifully backlit, the ceremony site featured a pergola adorned with hanging flowers. It made the space feel like a secret garden!

Sunset Portraits
I always create time in the wedding schedule for sunset portraits. You truly can’t beat the dreamy, golden light from this time of day.

Reception in the Aragon Ballroom
Esther and Yoon held their reception in the Aragon ballroom for their 200 guests. Their head table truly shined in front of the hedge backdrop complete with hanging orchids and roses. Entering the ballroom, the couple went straight into a choreographed first dance that everyone loved!

Esther and Yoon’s best man and maid of honor shared heartfelt toasts before Esther toasted both of the couple’s parents. Hearing the toasts of the evening, any guest could feel the bond between the couple and their friends and family. To say it was touching wouldn’t do it justice.
Congratulations to Esther and Yoon. It was such a pleasure and honor photographing your wedding!
