Find me on
When I was asked to photograph this wedding at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, I was beyond excited. Not only is it a stunning venue, but it also holds a special place in my heart as I got married there myself. And to make it even more special, the bride decided to wear a colorful dress, just like I did on my big day.

Kat got ready with her bridesmaids at the Fairmont. She wore a stunning lace and silk robe and her bridesmaids had print silk robes. Every detail of this day from the custom invitation suite to the Costarellos dress to the reception decor felt very elevated and whimsical.

Ceremony at St. Spyridon
The ceremony was held at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in San Diego, and it was an emotional and beautiful moment for the couple and their loved ones. Kat had a custom cape created for the ceremony that featured colorful 3D flowers. It trailed behind her down the aisle, leaving guests in awe of her walk to Matt.

Wedding at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar
The cocktail hour was held at the Manchester Terrace, where beautifully decorated fireplaces caught the guests’ eyes. The reception, which was attended by around 50 guests, took place inside the Manchester Salon ballroom. Lavender-colored linens and Oak Louis chairs adorned each table, while lush floral arrangements featuring ranunculus, roses, and wildflowers added to the romantic ambiance of the event.

The bride changed into an ivory Needle and Thread dress for the reception, complementing the elegant and sophisticated theme of the event. She changed into a new hair comb as well. I absolutely love Kat’s attention to detail.

One of the most sentimental aspects of the wedding was the use of the bride’s grandparents’ wedding cake topper, which added a touch of nostalgia and tradition to the occasion. The couple also drank champagne from the bride’s parents’ champagne coupes, further cementing the sense of family and connection that filled the entire event.
