Find me on
Melissa and Brian met me in San Diego for their Balboa Park engagement photos back in 2019. They were supposed to host their Azul Beach Resort wedding in Negril, Jamaica, in 2020 but Covid postponed it to 2021. I finally had the pleasure of flying to Jamaica to photograph this intimate wedding this July. It was lovely to see Brian and Melissa again for their wedding. This was a three day event, so I’ve broken up this blog into two parts. Stay tuned for Part Two on Thursday!

Catamaran Adventure Tour
The day before the wedding, the couple chartered a catamaran to take them and their friends on a three hour adventure. It included the ride, a stop at a snorkeling spot, and a stop at Rick’s Cafe where there’s a famous cliff diving spot. Most of the wedding crew joined in on the cliff diving – many of them were sore the next day!

The Wedding Morning
Melissa and Brian got ready separately with their respective wedding parties. They each hand wrote their vows to each other and would later read them to each other after the first look.

First Look and Portraits
The weather in Jamaica can be a little tricky – it began to sprinkle just as the first look was about to begin. We opted for the long white hallway for the first look to keep us out of the rain. It was a beautiful alternative to the lush, yet uncovered grounds of the Azul Beach Resort.

Azul Beach Resort Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place on a rooftop deck with their friends and family. It was short and sweet!

Wedding Party Portraits
Brian and Melissa each had intimate wedding parties. Both had three attendants on their sides, which meant they were able to spend a lot of quality time with each person. I just adore smaller bridal parties for that reason!

Part Two coming Thursday!
