Choose Engagement Photo Outfits that Match: Color Theory
Color theory feels a little complex, though thankfully it produced a beautiful visual tool called the color wheel to help match colors in a harmonious way. When selecting colors for your clothing, you can use the color wheel to choose colors that are analogous or complementary to your partner’s clothing.
Analogous colors sit next to each other on the color wheel, such as blue and green, and will create a harmonious look. Also, you could choose colors that are even closer – think more monochrome like light pink and a more saturated, bolder pink.
Complementary colors are opposite each other on the color wheel, such as blue and orange. These create a striking contrast.
To use the color wheel for matching clothes, first, determine the dominant color in your outfit and then choose colors that are either analogous or complementary for your partner. You can mix and match different shades and tones of the chosen colors to create a coordinated look. You can use the color wheel in the more saturated tones or use it in a more pastel, toned-down version.
For example, if you are wearing a green dress, your partner could wear a blue or a blue-green shirt to create an analogous color scheme. Alternatively, they could wear an orange jumpsuit to create a complementary color scheme if they wanted a feminine look.
