Find me on
This colorful wedding at The Prado in Balboa Park is an editorial I created for my bridal boutique The White Flower. With the help of some amazing vendors, I brought this shoot to life and am delighted by its feature on 100 Layer Cake – a top wedding inspiration publication.

Al Fresco Wedding at The Prado
This modern and colorful reception table design features a long table draped in a light purple velvet linen. The table itself is nestled in between a fountain and a wishing well – giving it an intimate and cozy setting. On top of the table, lush colorful floral centerpieces mix with taper candles for an organic luxe look. Blue stone dinnerware also plays to the organic feeling of the table, as does the colorful glassware. Gold dipped flatware provides pops of warmth and place cards tied in coral-toned tassels give a playful feeling to each place setting.

Reception Lounge and Cake
For the lounge, we had one focal sofa with several pillows of various colors and textures. On either side of the lounge, two dusty rose chairs provided bold tones while two poufs in neutral tones provided a more calm tone across from the sofa. A beautiful floral arrangement was placed on the coffee table to ensure the lounge looked cohesive with the reception table.

The cake was certainly a focal point of this editorial. Hung above the wishing well, which was covered in greenery and flowers, the cake featured soft blue and ivory tones and was decorated with sugar flowers.

Wedding Dress Looks
From my San Diego wedding dress shop, The White Flower Bridal Boutique, I curated two bridal looks for this editorial. The first look featured the Kelly Faetanini Joan mermaid gown in ivory. It’s an off-shoulder crepe gown with a ruffled tulle train skirt.

The second look was Martina Liana’s 1303 dress with the matching Odessa overskirt. This gown has an off the shoulder illusion neckline and with a fit-to-flare silhouette covered in beaded lace appliqués.

Last but not least, we did include the Elsa shoes by Bella Belle which are carried at The White Flower – the only stockist of Bella Belle Shoes in San Diego! Don’t they look good enough to eat!?
