Find me on
If you’ve ever seen my Instagram, you know how much I love a chic Marchesa bridal gown. Marchesa has designed some of my favorite couture and bridal dresses and I love them to pieces. I recently borrowed two gowns from them for bridal shoots in April, one of which was published on 100 Layer Cake Friday and is featured below.

Creative Inspiration
My inspiration for this shoot was to create a colorful and sophisticated look that any modern-loving bride would be attracted to. I also envisioned a shoot in which there would be two variations of place setting options and a variety of layouts for styling. Sometimes it’s hard for brides and grooms to imagine the multiple possibilities you can create from one color palette. Showing multiple configurations helps convey the different ways you can style a tabletop.

Color Palette
Shot entirely on medium format film, the colors of this shoot featured a dreamy pink, soft whites and marbles, lush greens, and a variety of pastel colors in the bouquet. Gorgeous fern arrangements provided a balanced infusion of texture into the shoot that didn’t overwhelm the clean lines of the gown and ghost chair.

Fashion and Beauty
I specifically chose this Marchesa bridal gown from the Spring 2018 collection because of its modern and clean silhouette and chic and feminine bows. The off shoulder neckline creates a sophisticated look for a fashion-forward bride. To complement the gown, the bride wore a gorgeous and unique braided updo with a soft makeup look and pink lip color. The key to a sophisticated look that’s not too wild or rigid is ensuring the hair and makeup are soft enough to be cohesive with the style of the gown.

Thank you to the team of vendors who made my vision come to life. Also, major appreciation to 100 Layer Cake for publishing this pink gem. It’s always such an exciting honor to have a gorgeous blog feature my images!
