Find me on
Last week, you saw my Paris wedding shoot and this week is something similar, in that it took place in France, but totally different in environment and style. This gorgeous Chateau de La Mar wedding inspiration shoot was published on Bridal Musings and has me utterly in love with the town of Jongieux, a very teeny tiny vineyard-adorned city about an hour east of Lyon.

Coming from Annecy, I drove west toward Jongieux in our tiny rental car through the most beautiful roads nestled in between the gorgeous scenery of France. My plans were completely thwarted when I came upon a barrier blocking the route I was supposed to take through the mountains. Without proper GPS to reroute me, I had to navigate my way back down the mountain and find an alternative route. I hoped that I went the right way! In my small car, I drove on the most narrow roads up a very windy path. I am fairly certain that cars on the other side of the road only missed mine by inches and that the cars behind me were filled with the most patient people in the world, given that nobody honked at me to drive any faster. Sorry guys, I wasn’t planning on flying off a cliff that day!

After making it to Chateau de La Mar, a gorgeous property surrounded by the chateau’s own vineyard, I met Nathalie Majenia, a designer who I’d been talking with over Instagram for about a year. How amazing is it that a platform like Instagram can bring people together when they’re thousands of miles apart?!

This shoot was so magical and it is one that I will never forget. Although there were some hiccups with my driving route and we all had a bit of a language barrier, this shoot could not have turned out any more perfect. Here’s to hoping work takes me back out to the tiny and charming towns of France next year.
