Find me on
I photograph the engagement photos of so many couples and share them here on my blog. Today brings something different, as I’ll be sharing the images from my and David’s engagement photos in Balboa Park and The Pendry. We absolutely adore them and are thrilled to share them with you all!

Provisional at The Pendry
We absolutely love modern architecture and interiors, so David and I had the idea to have cocktails at Provisional at the Pendry in downtown San Diego and incorporate them into our session. I wore a fun off-shoulder print dress that pushed me out of my comfort zone of black attire. It was so fun and playful and I loved feeling so feminine in it!

Balboa Park
After leaving the Pendry, we drove to Balboa Park. I initially didn’t want to shoot there as I felt like it was a cliche spot. I then realized that since the property is so large, you can use uncommon areas as backdrops to make it look very different than the typical engagement photos in Balboa Park.

We are mostly drawn to the architecture and its embellishments at the park, so we had our portraits taken in areas that emphasized the gorgeous features of this historic destination. We adore the Spanish style architecture of the property and its exquisite detailing, especially along the hallways and museums.

Now that we’ve had our engagement photos taken, we are more and more excited for the wedding day in April. Stay tuned for more wedding posts to come that document our planning process! If you haven’t already read about our venue, planner, or florist choices, definitely head over and find out!
