David and Me Throughout the Years

Since all of my weddings and engagement sessions have been postponed due to the shutdown, there’s not much content I have to blog. I might not shoot another couple until late July or late August! In light of that, I hope to share a few more personal blogs this season and I hope you enjoy them.

2012

David and I met in 2012 in Washington, D.C. Before moving to DC for graduate school, I had joined OkCupid where I met David. We had a 99% match! Once I had settled into the city, we met at the Farragut West metro stop before heading to the Bier Baron for drinks. After a few weeks, we were essentially a couple and spent most weekends together from there.

2013

In 2013, David and I traveled to Las Vegas together so I could attend the WPPI conference (a photography conference). That May we traveled to NYC for a weekend adventure. We also moved in together that August and I finished my master’s degree that winter. That December, we went to Turks and Caicos with my parents!

2014

This year, David and I felt the need for a change of pace in our lives. In July, we visited San Diego to see if we’d like to move there. Three months later, we did! Both of our parents visited us for Thanksgiving that year and loved the amazing weather!

2015

In March 2015, we traveled to Ft. Lauderdale where I met David’s grandparents for the first time. I also found a photo of David and his grandmother from when he was little and it’s one of my favorite photos of all time. He’s so precious! For David’s April birthday, I threw him a scavenger hunt that ended in cupcakes and silly decorations in our apartment.
That winter, my friend Liz (who was one of my bridesmaids) had me as a bridesmaid in her wedding in Alabama.

2016

In 2016, we attended lots of wedding industry events and I surprised David with a birthday trip to Palm Springs.

2017

We visited England and France this May for 2 weeks and had so much fun! We traveled to York and London before going to Paris, then Annecy, Lyon, the Loire Valley, and back to Paris. We also became engaged that September in Catalina!

2018

In 2018, I published my book A Bride’s Guide to a Picture Perfect Wedding. We also started fostering kittens this year, which we still do today! 18 kittens and counting! And we planned and planned for our 2019 wedding! Plus, that December, we bought a condo in Banker’s Hill.

2019

2019 was a huge year for us. David took me to the Addison for my birthday! We got married at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar and traveled to Bora Bora for our honeymoon. Our wedding got published on Martha Stewart Weddings that July! In September we also bought The White Flower Bridal Boutique. Needless to say, we were very busy last year! Plus, lots of kittens were fostered! Also in September, we started renovating our condo bathrooms and completed that in October after which we attended David’s brother’s wedding.
