Are you a 2023 bride looking for summer engagement photo outfits? Styling yourself can be an intimidating task – wondering where to shop, how to put pieces together, what colors to wear, etc. I’ll touch on a few of these topics today and am also going to share 6 complete summer engagement photo outfit ideas for 2023!

Where to Shop for Engagement Photo Outfits
Every bride’s budget varies for her engagement session outfits. I have always tried to be mindful of giving resources that cover a wide range of price points. Of course, people have different definitions of what is “affordable.” So if what I consider to be “affordable” is not what you do, then please do not take offense!
Affordable shops: Lulu’s, Amazon, Morning Lavender, Petal and Pup, Asos, Eloquii (plus size, affordable to slightly mid-range)
Mid-range shops: Reformation, Revolve, Nordstrom (you will find some high end pieces here too), Jessa Kae (great for modest dresses),
High end shops: Net a Porter (Brands: Agua Bendita, Cara Cara, Erdem, Markarian, Zimmermann), Neiman Marcus, Untamed Petals (white mini and midi dresses), Needle and Thread (colorful dresses)
Bridal Shoes (mid to high end): Bella Belle Shoes, Dolce Vita, Loeffler Randall, Dream Pairs (affordable)
Dress: Needle and Thread, Shoes: Bella Belle, Earrings: Panacea
How to Pair Engagement Outfit Pieces Together
Many techniques exist for executing a beautiful outfit, though I like to use three. Sometimes I use them together and sometimes I just use one. They are: pairing a theme, using the color wheel, and pairing textures.
For pairing a theme, a dress might have a mid-size floral pattern so I will look for earrings or perhaps a shoe that features a smaller, more delicate floral detail.

When using the color wheel, you may use a few of it’s theories. I talked about them in another post on choosing colors that I highly suggest reading.

When pairing textures, don’t feel like you always have to have the textures be the same material. The textures can mimic each other in appearance while differing in material or fabric. For the outfit below, the shoes are made with a material that resembles a natural fiber. I chose a bracelet with woven gold wires. The two pieces are different materials but have the same visual texture.

Why Accessories Make an Outfit
I truly believe that accessories bring an outfit to life. It’s in the little details that people find that extra bit of fun! By creating more visual interest in your engagement photo outfits, you’ll have that pop to ignite your photos.
Earrings frame your face and always make for a good idea. Necklaces sometimes fight an outfit, so they might not work for your overall look. Bracelets serve as a beautiful piece for engagement sessions when chosen carefully. They need to balance with your look – so choose carefully.
