These Sunset Cliffs Natural Park engagement photos of Scott and Sarah are sure to have you itching to explore the outdoors. Scott and Sarah flew in from Ohio for a few wedding meetings to make plans for their July micro-wedding at Estancia La Jolla. While they were in town, we made time for their engagement session on the cliffside of San Diego.

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park Engagement Photos
Scott and Sarah wanted engagement photos that showed off cliffs and the ocean, so what better spot than Sunset Cliffs! Other than Torrey Pines, Sunset Cliffs has some of the best ocean views in San Diego. One year, I photographed three engagement sessions at Sunset Cliffs within two weeks, so it’s definitely a popular spot for memorable photos!

We began the session in the remnants of the eucalyptus forest before making our way down some cliffs for a few extremely scenic photos. I wanted to make sure they had very landscape-heavy photos to remember the session. There may have been some mildly strenuous climbing and hiking involved to get to some of these locations! It was absolutely worth it for the end results.

Toward the end of the session, clouds rolled in as they often do for actual sunsets near Sunset Cliffs. This area loves to become overcast in the evening. We certainly took advantage of our last moments of light with some beautiful wide landscape and cliffside shots. I just love how beautifully these images turned out. Scott and Sarah will forever have iconic San Diego engagement photos!

Check back this summer for Sarah and Scott’s gorgeous micro-wedding at Estancia. They’ll be joined by around 10 family members, so it’ll be sweet and intimate. Plus, the wedding will be beautifully designed by Luxe Events with a stunning color palette that you won’t want to miss!
