Find me on
Last week, I drove north to meet Patrick and Veronica for their lavender field engagement photos at the most darling little farm. While strong, the light was insanely gorgeous for their session and I loved every second of photographing and getting to know them. Throughout the hour and a half that we were together, Veronica and Patrick laughed, smiled, and rocked one heck of an editorial look.

Our first stop was the last remaining lavender field of the farm (blooms peak in May and June), where hundreds and possibly thousands of bees were buzzing around the blooms. Yes, you read that right. Thankfully my camera gives me the courage to brave situations that I would normally avoid in order to give my clients the best possible images.

As I was shooting, I could hear the buzz of the bees carried throughout the soft wind in the air. After a few minutes, we all forgot about the bees, Patrick and Veronica’s initial nerves calmed, and together we made photo magic.

Patrick and Veronica’s enthusiasm for their session has to be some of the best I’ve seen. They diligently prepared beforehand with the information and guides I sent them and also planned the most perfectly suited outfits. When both the bride and groom are this excited and invested in their images, the result is a beautiful collection of photos that completely lives up to their expectations. Ladies, if your groom isn’t as excited as Patrick about the engagement session, find a way to make him muster up interest and eager anticipation, as it makes the world of a difference in your images!

For their second outfit, Veronica donned a gorgeous magenta gown that fit like a glove, while Patrick wore a sleek and well-tailored suit. I told them they looked like a Bond couple with how chic they looked and how confident they were.

Thank you Patrick and Veronica for spending the afternoon with me. You guys rocked your session and I am so excited to shoot your wedding next year at the Santaluz Club!

This is absolutely stunning! Not sure why I am just seeing this, but it’s beautiful.
Thanks Alyssa!
