When the ultra-organized Rachel and Tan met with me for the first time, I knew we were a perfect match. Rachel is a Type A optometrist and Tan is an intelligent architecture and photography enthusiast. Their Joshua Tree engagement session has to be one of my favorite to date!
They had asked about the possibility of shooting their engagement at Joshua Tree, as they both love hiking and camping there under the stars. I jumped at the opportunity and road tripped out there with the two of them a few weeks ago.
On our drive, we all talked cats, food, travel, and a little Star Wars. Anybody who shares my love for food and international jet-setting can easily fill eight hours of good conversation ;-)
The sweetest thing about Rachel and Tan is that they just click. Making each other laugh and smile comes naturally, which just might be a product of the fact that they met in Chemistry class (how great is that!?).
Because both Tan and Rachel enjoy hiking, Tan planned his proposal around a hiking adventure in Santa Barbara. Although it was quite warm out, Tan wore a jacket in which he safely stored the ring (Rachel did think this was odd, though).
After setting up his camera to take a “photo” (really a video, sneaky Tan) of the two of them on a gorgeous view point, Tan proposed to Rachel and the rest is all love and history.
Tan and Rachel, I had the most fun getting to know the two of you on our adventure. I am so excited and thrilled to be your wedding photographer next July! It’s going to be a gorgeous day!
