Find me on
If you love ruins, history, and gorgeous texture, you’ll adore these Mission San Juan Capistrano engagement photos. Taken at Margaret and Dominick’s session, theses images beautifully show their love and laughter, and even their two adorable dogs.

When I was photographing Margaret and Dom, I found myself totally in awe of their relationship. If I had to describe it, I would say it was effortless in the best possible way. Spend two minutes around them and you will understand they were made for each other. They speak to each other wish such kindness and respect, making them a total inspiration for a beautiful relationship.

From a photographer’s perspective, I adored how easy it was to have them smile and laugh with each other and also at my jokes. You guys, I make a lot of bad jokes during sessions. Thankfully, Margaret and Dom laughed at most of them when they weren’t smiling or laughing on their own.

Exploring the ruins, courtyards, and columns of the Mission, I found myself so inspired by its weathered textures. Each wall seems to speak to a different story. What I love about the Mission San Juan Capistrano is its expansive landscape. From the outside, the Mission appears smaller than it actually is. I could honestly shoot here five times and have each session look so different. If you haven’t yet visited, I highly recommend it!

As the sun was setting, Margaret and Dom brought their dogs to the outside of the Mission for our last few minutes of shooting. As their pets are such a huge part of their lives, it wasn’t even a question about whether to shoot with them. If you read my blog, you’ll understand how much I love when couples include pets in their session! It not only adds more of a personal and meaningful touch to the shoot, it’s simply just fun because pets bring a completely different energy to a shoot.

Margaret and Dom, I am so excited for your wedding this August. It’s going to be such a gorgeous day and I cannot wait to see you two then!
