Find me on
When I arrived at Nolan’s parents’ home on Coronado Island, I was greeted by Mary with a huge hug and her telling me that she felt like she knew my already. I adore the connection I have with my brides and grooms and it makes me so happy to work with them. Today I have the pleasure of sharing Nolan and Mary’s Hotel Del Coronado engagement photos that are so romantic and dreamy. We even had a few surprise guests in the form of Nolan’s pets. Give me cats and dogs both in one session and I am over the moon!
Coronado Cays
We spent time exploring the gorgeous streets of the Coronado Cays, where Nolan’s parents live. I’d never been this far south on the island before. I had always assumed there wasn’t much to see, but I was so wrong. The canals alone drew me in and we actually saw a gondola ride past us at one point during the session.

During my sessions, I am such an explorer. I usually have a general area to start and then look for soft light and lovely backdrops. By being a little spontaneous, it allows me to be inspired by my surroundings and to get creative with my couples. A spot many people might pass without notice might truly draw me in. For Mary and Nolan’s session, I found so many beautiful gems and am delighted with the images!

Hotel Del Coronado
After an outfit change, the sweet couple and I headed to the Hotel Del Coronado for the last half of their engagement session. Of course, I had to capture them with the Del’s iconic red roof in the backdrop. Few people were on the beach at this point, so it was the perfect opportunity to photograph Mary and Nolan on the sand with a backdrop of the ocean and rock formations. After this session, I am so very excited for their wedding at Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn in March. Stay tuned for their wedding day!
