Find me on
Melissa and Brian traveled from Detroit for their Organ Pavilion engagement photos in Balboa Park. Getting married in Jamaica next year, they loved the idea of taking their images in warm and sunny locations. Even though it ended up being an overcast San Diego day, the images turned out so ethereal.

Organ Pavilion
Knowing that Melissa and Brian love attending concerts, I knew the organ pavilion engagement photos would be a beautiful nod to their relationship. Coupled with the fact that they enjoy visiting museums, Balboa Park couldn’t be more of a perfect spot for their images. I always personalize my engagement location suggestions to my couples’ interests and history. Doing so creates more meaningful images that my brides and grooms cherish!

The Wishing Well
Each time I shoot at Balboa, I use different locations so my shoots never look the same and are tailored to my couple. We left the pavilion for the wishing well tucked behind the Prado for a private garden setting. I adore the cypress trees and the well!

Cactus Garden
I’ve ventured across the bridge to the cactus garden many times. I finally had the pleasure of photographing a couple among the cacti. Despite the overcast weather, the sun peeked out for a few moments while we were shooting. The backlit sun provided dreamy light to the images with the green tones of the cacti and Melissa’s chic dress.

Museum of Art and the Bell Tower
Melissa and Brian loved the idea of shooting in front of the gorgeous and intricately designed museums within the park. Who wouldn’t love the detailing on these buildings?!
For the last shots of the day, Melissa and Brian waited patiently for a shot crossing the street. The bell tower in the background makes the wait for no cars worth it. In Balboa Park, sometimes you have to wait a while for the perfect moment and it always pays off!
Your photos are amazing! Do you know who to contact for a wedding at the wishing well?
