When I first met Dorian and Ian, I was absolutely blown away by their positive and lively spirits. When we settled on going to Coronado for their sailboat engagement photos, I had to contain my excitement. Not only was I working with two very tall and gorgeous people, I was also finally fulfilling my bucket list item of photographing a couple on a boat.
I arrived to the docks by Peohe’s in Coronado to meet up with Dorian and Ian. Knowing it would make for gorgeous wide-angle shots, I had them hop on the boat while I photographed them from the docks. To say the least, the way the boat moved between the skyline of San Diego and the shores of Coronado was magical.
Eventually, the boat briefly docked to allow me climb aboard to capture tighter and more romantic photos on the sailboat. Never before had I needed my sea legs this much, as I absolutely did not want to fall in the water or drop my camera. Thankfully, I didn’t waver too much in my stance and was able to fully take advantage of the beautiful moments between Dorian and Ian. With gorgeous lighting and the sleek white and silver accents of the boat, the images of them snuggled up on the boat certainly make me swoon.
After departing the boat, Dorian and Ian changed into their second outfit that they wore while exploring Orange Street. I adore this part of the island. The landscaping and chic shops make for the most charming scenes. We fully took advantage of the little pockets of beauty that Coronado has to offer before heading back up to the tiny beach for some sunset images with the skyline in the background. It’s scenes like this that make me love living in San Diego and couples like Ian and Dorian that make me truly cherish my job.
