WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE VIDEOS
Back in November, I had the pleasure of traveling to Alabama to photograph Julie and Brad’s Birmingham Botanical Gardens engagement photos. Julie is a dear friend from college who was actually in the same sorority as another of my East Coast brides and was my “little.” When she called me to book me as her photographer for their wedding at the Florentine next summer, I was absolutely ecstatic! Julie is down to Earth, absolutely hilarious, and is such a great match for Brad, who is an easy-going gentleman.

For those of you who don’t know, I obtained my undergraduate degree in Birmingham before moving to DC for grad school. Visiting Birmingham brings back such nostalgia, so it was quite a treat to experience this and catch up with Julie at the same time. We began their session at the lovely Botanical Gardens, which I somehow never visited in my three years of college. It was absolutely beautiful with its fall colors and variety of landscapes. We don’t typically experience fall colors in San Diego, which made me so excited to include them in Julie and Brad’s engagement session.

After exploring a rose garden and the Japanese gardens, we departed for a downtown rooftop location just in time for the most glorious sunset lighting. I seriously swooned over the combination of this light with Brad’s suit and Julie’s formal dress. Talk about some serious inspiration for couples who love a mix of modern architecture and glamorous clothing!

Brad, it was such a pleasure meeting and getting to know you. Julie, he is such a perfect match for you and I am so happy for the two of you. Absolutely counting down the days until next June when I see you two again for your summer wedding. I know it will be such a beautiful and special day!
