Kelley and Blair married at a private estate in Coronado, California, in 2016. To celebrate their two year anniversary, they dressed up for a portrait session in Balboa Park – a park whose allure comes from its intricate Spanish architecture, lush palm and cypress trees, and rose and cactus gardens. These San Diego anniversary photos truly stole my heart. I am just utterly in love with everything about this session!

Saving their black outfits to contrast with the neutral walls of the museums later, Kelley first wore a pink Marchesa Notte gown that paired beautifully with Blair’s blue suit and pink tie. To complement their colorful attire, I photographed them among the roses and cacti in the park. We were delighted that the rose garden was in full bloom during their session. It gave us a vibrant surrounding with stunning color pops for the first half of their photos.

Changing into a black Marchesa gown and a black suit, Kelley and Blair boldly contrasted against the neutral walls and columns of the park. You honestly can’t beat the jaw dropping architectural elements with anything else in San Diego. Walking through the park, you’ll see the intricate architectural detailing on columns and facades.

The Casa Del Prado Theatre has one of the most stunning facades and elegant in every way. The theatre’s Churrigueresque ornamentation held its own alongside Kelley’s detailed Marchesa gown and chic updo. Her bouquet paired beautifully with both of her gowns. I just adore bouquets for portrait sessions. I mean, who doesn’t love flowers!?

San Diego Anniversary Photos
Clearly, Kelley and Blair celebrated their two year anniversary in every sense of the word “style.” We ended their session with a walk in front of the iconic bell tower just as the last drop of sun was available.

These photos are stunning! Having grown up in San Diego, I love seeing photos of the beautiful places I remember. You have captured the magic of Balboa Park and the devotion of your lovely couple. Well done!
Thank you so much!
